The Nintendo Switch system is now a little over five years old, and there has been new games constantly being added to the Nintendo eShop, and now it's time to talk about Nintendo rumors. Not every month, but every few months or so, I will talk about the possible hidden plans Nintendo may have in store for its consumers in the near future. Two rumors, simplified for the general public, all in one place.
Nintendo May Be Hinting to Something in 2023
If you have noticed- if you ever even read other gaming blogs - that Nintendo will be ending some services in 2023. For instance, the WiiU and 3DS eShops will be shut down in 2023 and the last wave for the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC will be released in 2023. And Nintendo usually announces a console ever 6 to 7 years, and 2023 minus 2017, the year when the Switch was released, equals 6. This means that either later this year or early next year Nintendo could announce their next-gen console, either the successor to the hybrid Switch system or a brand-new concept. But factoring in
obstacles like high demand and the ongoing chip shortage, it may be until late 2023 when Nintendo decides to showcase their next-gen console. Or they will exclusively show a one-time glimpse of a working next-gen prototype. The console should also surpass the PlayStation 5 in performance, but may fall a bit behind the Xbox Series X.

A New Switch Dock May be Coming This Year
There has been some rumors of another upgraded version of the Nintendo Switch coming later this year, but I don't think Nintendo will announce
a "Switch Pro" just a few months after the Nintendo Switch OLED was released. But the new 13.0.0 update brought a new option in settings to update the firmware on the Nintendo Switch Dock.
It was weird learning that the dock itself actually has to undergo an update, but why now? Is Nintendo planning to unlock a hidden feature in the
dock, or is this a sign that a second-generation dock may be coming very soon? It may be one of each, or it may be both; it's likely that Nintendo
wants to give their hybrid console a little bit more power before its succeeded by the next generation system. And what hidden feature could be hidden inside the dock? There may possibly be another chip inside to help improve game performance and frame rate when the video is outputted to a TV, or it may just be some bug fixes to the dock itself.

Conclusion
And that ends the brief Nintendo Rumors article. Any time a huge rumor, leak, or announcement is from Nintendo, it will all be covered here.
