The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild game is an entirely different Zelda game of all time. Traditional Zelda games had many puzzles and dungeons filled with monsters and other items to help Link on his journey to find and wield the Master Sword and defeat Ganondorf at Hyrule Castle.
But Breath of the Wild allows the player to explore every inch of Hyrule. You can freely explore Hyrule and fight monsters, find weapons, and walk to new, undiscovered locations. There’s nothing in the game (99.9% of the time) stopping Link and you from adventuring the vast kingdom of Hyrule.

Story and Gameplay
Link wakes up 100 years later on the Great Plateau after being defeated fighting alongside Princess Zelda against Calamity Ganon. Link then needs to regain his past memories of Zelda, his strength, find and wield the Master Sword once again, and free the other fallen heroes. You are welcome to try to defeat Calamity
Ganon immediately after leaving the Great Plateau.

The Great Things and the Not-So Great Things
The freedom to explore Hyrule is what defines the game in my opinion. Some areas of the game look almost similar to locations only found in other Zelda games. There are also some mysteries in the game like the Zonai tribe, who are mentioned in the game but not the focus of any quest in-game.
Breath of the Wild allows you to explore what a post-apocalyptic Hyrule looks like. There are ruined buildings, no Castle Town, and very few people left that live in Hyrule.
Some things that Nintendo could have done to make Breath of the Wild a truly successful game was adding true dungeons. I know that the Divine Beasts and the Shrines in the game are technically dungeons, but I miss the traditional Zelda dungeons made of stone located in the common locations in all Zelda games like Faron Woods, Gerudo Desert, and Death Mountain.
One feature from the game that really caught my attention was cooking food. Not only that, if you bring certain ingredients of food together, you can create some amazing dishes. Link can also wear different clothing, because sometimes the green elf-like outfit often feels “un-heroic”.
And this is the first Zelda game in which the main characters actually talk using their actual voices.
There are so many cool, awesome, interesting features in the game that I can’t explain all right here at once, maybe I’ll go more in detail about it in a future post.

Is This Game Truly Worth Playing?
Yes, if you want to explore every inch of Hyrule Kingdom, play a Zelda game with slightly different
elements and understand what might affect the storyline of Breath of the Wild’s sequel. This is also a great game for someone who is new to the Zelda series. And this game doesn’t need to have Internet connection to play.
This game is great on the Nintendo Switch because you can take it with you wherever you
go. I wouldn’t recommend this game for younger children but most definitely a game for ages 10 and up. To check the latest of Breath of the Wild’s sequel, go here.
