The Nintendo Switch has been around for more than five years and its close to being succeeded by a much more powerful console capable of running more intense games. There has been many rumors that Nintendo may announce a next-generation Switch console (dubbed the Switch 2 or Switch Pro) later this year and to early next year which with a much more upgraded CPU and GPU, with frames reaching from 60 to 100. And with a nearly endless amount of notes about this new Nintendo console, I'm going to share some of the features I want Nintendo to bring to their next-gen console, as well as a minor spec sheet.
More Storage Space
The Nintendo Switch handles some really capable system handling even the best graphic-demanding games, but one improvement Nintendo needs to make to their systems is storage space. The Switch and Switch Lite have 32 GB of storage, and the Switch OLED has 64 GB of storage. Even though anyone can find a 256 GB microSD card under $50 at Amazon, Nintendo needs to add more internal storage to their systems. Not only will more storage mean more games to download but also internal storage is what these graphically-demanding games depend on for smooth frame rate and, of course, graphics. Games like Fortnite, Warface, Rogue Company, Need for Speed and even Nintendo's games like Mariokart 8 and Breath of the Wild would look amazing on a system with a high amount of storage.
I'm not requesting Nintendo to add 1 TB of storage in their consoles but I just want a Nintendo system with at least 150 - 600 GB of storage to play Mariokart or Zelda with better quality graphics. More storage means more games to have extra lines of code to upgrade their graphics without having to worry about draining internal or external storage, draining battery, and frying a low-end CPU and GPU.

A New NVIDIA GPU
As I mentioned before, the Nintendo Switch lacks graphically intense games because the GPU inside the system not the best. The CPU/GPU the Switch runs on is a NVIDIA Custom Tegra processor, making games like Mariokart, Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 2, and Arms look more fluid. But when graphically-intense games like Fortnite, Warface, or Rogue Company run on the Switch, the GPU in the Custom Tegra begins to hit its limit, with lower frame rate, lag, and overheating to become bad for your Nintendo.
One upgrade Nintendo can do to make their next console come head to head with the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S is to add in a better CPU and an better GPU, one that can preform a minimum frame rate of 60 and a maximum frame rate of 130. If Nintendo does decide to do business with NVIDIA once again, the Japanese-based company could invest in either the RTX 2060 or greater.

Release Date
The next-gen Nintendo console may make a debut this fall or Spring 2023. Nintendo could also be hinting to release this console at the same time as Breath of the Wild 2 is to be released, following a similar tradition when the Nintendo Switch and Breath of the Wild both came out on March 4, 2017. As of the time I'm writing this, the Nintendo Switch OLED has now become an easier console to swipe and it would be great option to extend the years of the Nintendo Switch.
